Classic Handbag: This sturdy style can take a girl from a meeting to lunch. These bags are usually medium
-sized, good for toting essentials such as a wallet, phone and a bit of makeup, but not
large enough to carry numerous extras for a full day out. It’s a ladylike look, perfectly
paired with a skirt, dress or nice trousers. The straps are usually at a length to be
carried by hand as opposed to swung over the shoulder.
The Kelly Bag: Named after Hollywood movie star and Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly. It’s smart,
leather; tailored shape is reminiscent of a briefcase or document case and is a
sophisticated, classic style.
The Saddle Bag: Based on the shape of a horse's saddle, this shoulder bag with a long front flap is a
practical hold-all for everyday use.
The Clutch Bag: Designed to be carried in the hand or under the arm, has no handles. Only bring along
the essentials: cell phone, mints, a credit card, lipstick and cab fare. You can use a clutch
bag as a wallet inside your larger handbag during the day, and then pull it out for
evening.

A Mini Bag: This is simply a small bag. This is for the girl who just likes to
carry around the essentials and these small bags can take many fashionable forms although often
resemble the hobo design. Mini bags can be worn on the shoulder or held in the hand depending on
the design.
A Satchel Bag: A satchel bag is typically used to carry bulky objects. It is
characterized by one or two short straps and is worn over one shoulder and is essentially a bulky
shoulder bag. The short straps also allow for the bag to be held by hand, but its bulkiness
means it is rarely used in this way.
Baguette Bag: The baguette designer handbag became very popular a few years ago when Fendi
introduced the style to the world. They called the bag a baguette because it was
reminiscent of a loaf of baguette bread.
The Pouch: A soft, small bag, often with a drawstring, which was designed to be worn
underneath clothing in the early 1900s. Today numerous variations are available and are

The Box Bag: Often doubling up as a vanity case, this style was popularized in the 1950s and bags
were often made from Lucite, a shiny, hard material otherwise known as Perspex. Box
bags were so named due to their cigar box shape and today this hard cased style can
also be found in wood, straw, cane and plastic.
A Duffle Bag: A long, cylinder shape, normally has two long draw string handles attached at the top
running to the bottom of the bag. Normally used as a sports bag.
Bucket Bag: In the shape of a bucket, normally open topped with either a long or short handle(s).
The Birkin Bag: A bigger, easier-to-handle bag in which to carry your many things. Today to be seen
carrying an oversized bag is the height of celeb cred.
